Business Team Development Coaching |
When I work with teams who want to improve I use various methods to quickly review the performance challenges facing the team members and leaders. I can then coach individuals and facilitate teams to help bring out positive changes in thier behaviours, performance, envirnoment and team culture.
Here a just a few examples where Team Development Coaching can have a positive impact:
If you were to take a few moments to review the above, what team leader/ manager would not want his or her team members to improve in these key areas? You can relate the list to a Formula 1 racing team, a sales team, a customer service team, a team of care workers, a football team, or a team of charity workers. Of course individual personalities and their skills and talents will play a vital part, but the team culture will dictate whether those differing attributes are either nurtured and fully utilised or suppressed and wasted.
A fresh pair of eyes can help you identify the best Team Development Coaching solution. I would be delighted to perform a simple yet highly effective ‘Team Healthcheck’ with you and your staff (confidential) that takes only one day or less. The ‘Healthcheck’ report is fed back to you in a 1x1 coaching session together with a written summary report. My clients find the results practical, helpful and often enlightening. By having focused leadership coaching combined with targeted and tailor-made Team Development sessions you benefit from the perfect combination of personal & team development together with tremendous value for money. When I look at the attributes of a real life high performing team, it matters very little if that team is a successful business team, organisational team or a sports team. What really separates the ‘best from the rest’ are the sum total of the personal qualities of the members in areas such as leadership, commitment, open communication, a positive mindset and a real will to succeed. There is far too much mystique that surrounds creating and sustaining a high performing team.
Team leaders/ managers are so bogged down in the day to day activity of the team, fire fighting problems as they arise that many problems and shortfalls are easily missed. Even when they are evident, managers often commit scarce resources to Team Building ‘Away Days’ in the hope that it will sort the symptoms out. Although many ssuch development activities are great fun, they rarely on their own affect the root cause as to why the team is not performing to its full potential.
